Synthetic growth (2026) is part of the Rebirth series. The work begins as a byproduct of plastic extrusion, where melted plastic drips and accumulates under gravity, forming a dense mass shaped by weight and material behaviour. The form is further melted and compressed, cut back and built up to establish its final structure.
Derived from fossil-based polymers formed through geological compression of ancient organic matter, the material carries traces of deep time within its surface. Spray paint is used to highlight the differences among the plastic types embedded in the work and its material history.
