SYNTHETIC GROWTH, 2026

Postindustrial plastic, car lacquer
88 x 34 x 39 cm

Synthetic growth (2026) is part of the Rebirth series, in which sculptures are formed from extruded post-industrial plastic waste through an interplay of chance, machinery, and artistic intervention. The material—derived from organic matter millions of years old—carries traces of geological time, industrial processing, and human intervention within its surface.

The sculpture takes the form of a speculative life-form shaped by its material conditions, suggesting an organism adapted to a world saturated with plastic. Rather than imagining a distant future or alternate reality, the work proposes a present in which synthetic waste becomes structural, inhabited, and inseparable from life itself.

Exhibited at Picnic 1, Galleria Heino (Helsinki, Finland, 2026).
