Bio
Lana Haga (b. 1986, Leningrad, USSR) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Vaasa, Finland, working across sculpture, installation, relief, and sound.
Working with industrially manufactured materials, their byproducts and waste—primarily plastic and textile—Haga constructs conditions in which form emerges through repetition, accumulation, compression, containment and release. Within these formations, materials exceed their original function and reorganise into new configurations shaped by material behaviour and physical forces, where form is determined through continuous negotiation between matter and process.
Lana Haga has exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts, London, United Kingdom; MUU Contemporary Art Centre and Galleria Heino, Helsinki, Finland; the Ostrobothnian Museum and Vaasa City Art Gallery, Vaasa, Finland. Her work is held in national and international private collections, including the Heino Art Foundation Collection, Helsinki.
