COLLAPSED CONNECTION, 2022

Mdf, post-consumer textiles & filling, acrylic, iron, liquid rubber & dye
220 x 160 cm

Red hanging installation by multidisciplinary artist Lana Haga

A heavy structure mimicking a set of window blinds folds and sinks into itself. Made of MDF, dyed textile, rubber and iron, Collapsed Connection doesn’t symbolize division—it performs it. Drawing on the early days of the pandemic, the work reflects on the transformation of the window: once a site of openness, it became a barrier—separating inside from outside, the individual from the collective, loved ones from one another. The work captures the psychological weight of this divide, and the quiet, persistent desire to reach across it. There is no clean boundary here, only pressure—of containment, of longing, of what remains when connection falters but the need for closeness endures

Exhibited at You’ve Changed, Vaasa Kunsthalle, Vaasa, Finland, 2022 curated by Silvia Rinne.
