SUPERPOSITION (BLUE), 2025
Cotton twine and oil on canvas
55 x 46 cm

Superposition (Blue) (2025) is part of the Superposition series of relief works constructed through repeated placement of cotton twine onto canvas. The twine is laid by hand in continuous lines, building a dense surface shaped by accumulation and manual pressure. Diluted oil paint or acrylic ink is applied in soft gradients, allowing colour to register across the sculptural surface without fully fixing its direction.

Through repetition and duration, parallel trajectories remain visible within the same field of lines. The title of the series references the concept of superposition in quantum physics, where multiple states coexist before stabilising. The works are on view with an accompanying soundwork, created in collaboration with Fayf Abad.

Exhibited at A Thousand Plateaus,
a solo show at MUU Contemporary Art Centre (Helsinki, Finland, 2025) and group show Picnic 1, Galleria Heino (Helsinki, Finland, 2026).
